Agata Jaworska curator of Marres Currents#3
Agata Jaworska is this year's curator of the third edition of Marres Currents, the annual exhibition that shows a selection of work of artists that this year finish their education at the Academies of Fine Art and Design in the international region of Maastricht.
Jaworska teaches at the Sandberg Instituut, the Design Academy Eindhoven and at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts. She has curated several exhibitions, most notably In No Particular Order, featuring young design talents at the Dutch Design Week 2014.
For Marres Currents #3, Jaworska forms a curatorial team with Ina Hollmann, Eva Jäger and Guillemette Legrand, (former) students of the Design Academy Eindhoven. Jaworska collaborated with Hollmann before. They worked on the exhibition Sense Nonsense at the Van Abbemuseum together, and on Domestic Affairs a coproduction from among others Bureau Europa at a large design manifestation at Cologne last January.
“We are interested in how young artists would like to position themselves in society through their ideas of what an art practice can be”, says Jaworska. “Marres Currents is an opportunity to reflect upon emerging tendencies in the region and to tap into broader discussions with artists, educators, collectors, curators and the public.”
Marres Currents #3 is scheduled to open on Wednesday December 16 2015.
