Het Parcours: Special programme 'The Collapse of Cohesion'
13.9—13.9.2015

The Collapse of Cohesion, Room, 2014 Levi van Veluw 12:00 – 17:00 uur

During Het Parcours on Sunday September 13, Marres screens the film The Collapse of Cohesion, Room, 2014 by the Dutch artist Levi van Veluw in the IJshuis at Marres.

In September, Levi van Veluw is installing an all-encompassing 350m2 installation The Relativity of Matter. The exhibition opens October 4. Once the doors close, the visitor enters into a maze of corridors, atmospheres and perspectives that challenge his senses. With The Relativity of Matter, Van Veluw presents an all-encompassing scenographic experience that immerses the visitor in a world of disparate forms of expression.

Levi van Veluw's work was nominated for the Volkskrant Fine Art Prize 2015 and was voted favourite by the audience.

One of his previous works is The Collapse of Cohesion, a series of short films based on drawings. A perfectly organised room falls apart. The falling apart of the structure is filmed at over 1000 frames per second. After months of meticulous preparation, this is the only, and crucial, moment over which the artist has no control.
